Science Songwriter of the Future!!

We have some really good news at Irchester Lab_13 ! We have WON SECOND place in the science songwriter of the future contest! Jess, Chloe and Fran wrote the song, and here is some information on how we wrote it. The song has got the word postulate in and we think that it is very catchy!

Miss Hogan saw the Science Songwriter of the Future competition on twitter. We decided we absolutely HAD to enter. Firstly, Fran, Chloe and Jess put together some cool catchy science lyrics for our song as well as thinking of a great tune. Then, Fran wrote some music on her guitar to add to our song. It was a lot of pressure on us as we knew we competing against 18 year old A-level students and other secondary students from all over the country.

Mysteriously, we had a visitor turn up to the lab last Friday called Dr. Martin Zaltz Austwick. We had a good conversation about science communication and what projects he works on in the University College London.  But there was a big surprise! Martin then told us we had managed to come second place in the rankings! We earned a medal and £50 worth of Itunes vouchers! It was really amazing coming second out of all the entries from people all over the country!

      Hi Rick,

Chloe and Jess and I have formed a band and we are called the Glitter Girls and we do songs about lots of things including science.
We have a new song and working on another one. Chloe and Jess write the words and I help and choreograph the dances.

      From Fran
