Using Children’s Questions to Plan Science in the Classroom

In Irchester, we have encouraged and developed an open ended and curiosity driven approach to science in the classrooms too, not just in Lab_13. Our teachers ask the children what they want to know about the upcoming science topic and use their questions to plan their science lessons covering what the children want to find out. Often, the children’s questions lead their learning above and beyond that expected of them in the science national curriculum. This week, Year 1 were asked what they wondered about light and here are some are some of their fantastic questions which have now been put into their teachers planning ready to start answering in January!
