Irchester News

The New Year 6 Lab_13 committee members seem to be fitting in nicelya nd geting on with all their Lab_13 duties. In Lab _13 at Irchester we have a lot of exciting events coming up.

  • We have Science Cinema where we will watch David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum ALIVE.
  • During the last week of term we will have Demo Day. Demo day is where children can bring in their favourite science demonstrations or quick experiments to perform and we will choose the top ones to perform on Parent Evenings. Hopefully some Parents will bring in some on Parent Evenings too.
  • The second Lab_13 Lectures will be on again during National Science and Engineering Week in March. We have some great scientists ready to perform for all the children in our area!

On Monday,  we had visitors from Gillespie Primary School’s Lab_13. Carole is the scientist in residence for Gillespie. She only started two weeks ago.  She visited us to see how we run our Lab 13 committee and we gave her lots of advice and top tips for a management committee.  When she came she made a lot of notes about what we said to her. She also brought Gillespie’s science coordinator Shelley.   We are really looking forward to meeting the Gillespie management committee after they are up and running.
