Great news at Gillespie.

Welcome to Gillespie Lab_13 blog. Great news to be revealed soon!

On the 10th of February there will be a science cinema screening in Lab_13 with refreshments and treats. You can buy tickets from the office.  Join us to learn about science, and to raise money for a wonderful surprise that will excite you all soon…

Two Year Three children who wanted to find out the answer to their question, which Carole was very excited about, did an amazing experiment, which turned out beautiful. The question was “how do you make crystals?” This is what they did:

Dipped string and paper towels in salty water with food colouring, then waited patiently for 24 hours!

Year Six did a very fun experiment about upthrust. Some Y6 children experimented about upthrust in Lab_13, and showed us in assembly how upthrust works using some test tubes, salt water, food colouring, rocks and a plastic strawberry.

Year Two made up a fantastic song about digestion, which all of them performed in assembly. They made actions to make it really funny.

Bye for now, more news from the Lab next week!!
