Fish eye dissections

Gillespie year 6 were dissecting fish eyes for their topic ‘How we see things’ and were learning how other animals’ eyes are different to human eyes. It was a very messy experiment!!

As you know already we have been looking after some eggs (not eggs you’d find in Sainsbury but chick eggs)! Over the past few days each of the classes have come to see the eggs in the incubator and the eggs under the LED light! Most of the chicks are forming nicely but unfortunately some didn’t make it that far. Under the light you can see the veins, the eyes and the feathers!!

Bridges competition

Some children in year5  have been chosen to take part in a competition at IAMs secondary school. They will be visiting IAMs next week to research different bridges in London. They will have to build a sturdy bridge that can stay up whilst being knocked down. They will be up against three local schools around Islington… so may the best bridge win!!

Good luck year5!!
