Gillespie news – science week competitions!

This week, I am going to tell you about the different competitions that will be going on during Gillespie Science Week. Thanks to the management committee, there will be three different competitions:

  • Science Bake-Off! You can either bring in a cake on the morning of Tuesday 3rd June, or you can sign up with your teachers to decorate a ready-made cupcake for ¬£1 on Monday 2nd lunchtime or after school. There will be a cake sale after the judging in morning assembly on Tuesday 3rd to sell the wonderful cakes. Winners can keep their cake if they like! Remember to bring some money to buy cake and support Lab_13!
  • Science & Art Comp! Where you have to be creative at home by making some art based on science, or using science. It is luckily a free competition, you just need to bring your artwork in by the morning of Thursday 5th.
  • Science through Poetry Competition! Where children during their free time can come up with a poem based on science in any sort of form. This is also a free competition, bring in your submission by the morning of Thursday 5th!ImageImage

Prizes for the Art and Poetry competitions will be awarded in the following Monday assembly. You can win a moving mechanical toy! And runners-up will get a little something too.
