Ghanaian Lab_13 students visit their local university

Solid Hope Student Management Committee write about their recent trip to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

It was a wonderful Friday morning and it was the day the SMCs of Solid Hope and Agape were to go for an educational trip to KNUST (our local university). The bus arrived to take us at 8.39am. We were prepared for the trip and were very excited.

We reached KNUST at 9.30am. On our way to the conference room we saw many departments including the Department of English, the Department of Languages, and so on. When we entered the conference room we were welcomed by Mr Bediako. Our weekly chairman Bismark and Agape’s chairman Enostesia introduced us all to him.

Our tour was led by Mr John William who took us to the pharmaceutical lab. We saw many machines there including the magnetic stirrer, a pH meter, and a spectrometer. After that we went to the director’s office where we had the opportunity to ask many scientific questions. After that we went to the physics lab and saw the equipment there, including a thermometer.

We then headed back to the bus and had food and water in the bus. We arrived back at school that afternoon with lots of new ideas.
