Hello! This is Joe and Lewis writing the blog for Lab_13 today!
To begin, we have some good news and bad news. The bad news is, Millie, one of our year 6 committee members, has decided to resign. Her motives were that: She felt that there were other people who want and will be more committed to the job and be able to give the time and dedication it deserves. We would like to thank her on her great work for the Lab and she will be missed.
The good news is that we have a replacement for the spot. Due to time pressure we had to promote internally for the position so the newly assigned person is… Our head F.LAB Aiden Brookes! In case you had forgotten, F.Labs are Friends of the Lab who help us when we are running events and fundraising. Aiden said: “It is a wonderful opportunity and honour to be chosen as part of something as big as Lab 13.”
In other news, on Thursday 31st May, the Committee was visited by Alex Hopkins the Director of Communities and Learning for the county. We interrogated him: nicely! What he thought of Lab-13 and if he had had a Lab_13 when he was at primary school, would it would have changed his life today. He gave us some good advice. He sent a letter to us saying that he was really impressed by the lab and promised to help us with finding funding.
Lots to do for next week but we’ll tell you all about that in our next blog!
That’s all for this week!
