At Lab_13 Irchester, we have been successfully running staff training for both teachers and teaching assistants for a range of schools in Northamptonshire , plus a range of workshops for the children. Visiting Lab_13, with our fully equipped science lab, wildlife area and a fulltime Scientist in Residence is an exciting and inexpensive way to make science even better in your school.
· Our Group CPD courses are available for teachers and teaching assistants who wish to build knowledge and confidence in the teaching of primary science. The workshops have a substantial practical element and we are mindful that activities modelled in the science workshop represent feasible classroom practice and are appropriate for all year groups. · Individual Science CPD workshops are available for schools who wish to book just one teacher onto a course at a time. These workshops are focused on how to implement aspects of the new science curriculum in your school and are available on specific dates throughout the year. · Gifted and Talented workshops extend children’s thinking and enhance what they have learned in the classroom using real-life application of learning and working to solve world issues and problems. G&T workshops are available for both Keystage 1 and Keystage 2 scientists.
